STEWARDSHIP AND MISSION COMMITTEE

Thanks to members of St. Paul's!  67 health kits were put together on Easter Sunday for the work of Church World Service.  Items such as washcloths, soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste were collected and packed in zip-lock bags to be distributed throughout the world in places that are in great need.  Children and adults alike colored beautiful butterflies to include in each kit - a symbol of hope and new life that we hope these gifts represent.

ARE YOU BEING CALLED?  Have you felt that you’d like to do something to help persons who are recovering from Hurricane Katrina, but unsure how to do it?  Several suggestions have come from our church conference office, including donations of tools, designating offerings, and going on mission trips to the affected areas.  If you are at all interested and physically able to help with clean-up, St. Paul’s has an already established Missionary Fund which may help make a trip possible.

To quote from the introduction of our policy “Whereas, Our Lord has shown us by His Life and teaching that we are to care for others in their need and share the saving truth of the gospel, AND whereas, there are many people who have serious spiritual, physical and educational needs AND whereas, there are people in our congregation who could serve our Lord and needy people in a variety of settings, therefore be it resolved that the ‘Missionary Fund’ of St. Paul’s UCC, Stoverstown be established to promote and support local individuals, groups or families who are called for Christian service in the needs of others.”

If you have any questions, please see any member of the Stewardship Committee.
